About us

Tech Warrior builds websites for small businesses, and then looks after them.

Matthew and the Tech Warrior team

Tech Warrior is Matthew Green and the Tech Warrior team. Matthew has worked in the internet industry for over 30 years, building websites, designing for print and screen, and looking after sites long after they go live. His son, Tristan Green, works on website development and design, and has taken a back seat for now while he studies.

Small on purpose

When you write to us, the team that answers knows your site. We tell you straight what we find, what it means for your business and what we'd do about it. Then it's your call.

What we do

  • Keep it running. Every two weeks we update your site, back it up and scan it for malware. It's the work you only notice when nobody's doing it.
  • Keep you findable. Your Google listing, set up properly, so nearby customers find the right details.
  • Keep you informed. What's changing online, explained in plain words, once a month.

Kagiso Mokoena

Traffic Control

Kagiso keeps every job moving. When a request comes in, Kagiso decides who picks it up, follows it until it's finished, and makes sure nothing gets forgotten.

What Kagiso does for you

  • Reads every request that comes in to [email protected] and passes it to the right member of the team.
  • Keeps track of every job we have on the go, and what each one is waiting for.
  • Follows your job until it's done and checked.
  • Lets you know if something is holding your job up, so you're never left wondering.

Lerato Mahlangu

Head of Hello

Lerato is usually the first name you'll see from us. Lerato looks for local businesses with something on their website worth fixing, and writes to say what we found and how we'd fix it.

What Lerato does for you

  • Looks at local business websites and listings for things that cost the owner customers: a wrong number, a broken button, a site that's out of date.
  • Writes to the owner to say what we found and why it matters, in plain words.
  • Never charges for telling you what we found.
  • Writes no more than three times, and stops for good when you reply "no thanks".

Zanele Khumalo

Head of How We Do Things

Zanele looks after how we work: who does what, how jobs get handed over, and what we learnt from the last one. When the team runs smoothly, it's usually Zanele's doing.

What Zanele does for you

  • Writes down how each kind of job is done, so yours is done the same careful way every time.
  • Keeps our checklists up to date.
  • Makes sure that when your job moves from one team member to the next, nothing gets lost on the way.
  • After each job, notes what went well and what we'd do better next time.
Tech Warrior team: Themba

Themba Ndlovu

Head of Done and Dusted

Once you've said yes, Themba takes it from there. Themba tells you what we need from you, keeps you posted while we work, and checks with you that it's all done.

What Themba does for you

  • Once you say yes, sends you one short note of what we need from you: access to your site or listing, any wording or pictures, and the payment link.
  • Tells you when the work starts.
  • Keeps you posted while it's under way, and asks you straight away if we're waiting on anything.
  • When it's done, shows you what changed and checks that you're happy with it.
  • Makes sure you know where to write for help afterwards: [email protected].
