What we collect, and why
When you send us a message
If you use the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, phone number and your message. We use them only to reply to you. Your message is saved on the website and also sent to us by email.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that your browser saves. This website uses necessary cookies, which keep it working and secure. One of them remembers your cookie choice. These are always on.
You can change your cookie choice at any time in the cookie settings, using the cookie button on this website.
Keeping the website safe
To protect this website from attacks, it keeps a record of visits, including the visitor’s IP address (the number that identifies a device on the internet) and the pages requested. We use this only for security.
Where your information is kept
This website runs on servers in South Africa.
Traffic to this website also passes through Cloudflare, a security and speed service whose servers are mostly outside South Africa.
We back up the whole website, including messages sent through the contact form, to Google Drive. Google’s servers are outside South Africa, so your information is transferred out of the country when it is backed up. We use this service because it keeps the backups secure and lets us restore the website if something goes wrong.
How long we keep it
We keep messages from the contact form only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. Then we delete them.
Security records and backups are kept for a limited time and then replaced by newer ones.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information.
We only share it with the services that run this website for us, which are described above:
- our website host
- our backup service
- Cloudflare
They may use it only to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask us what personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it, or to delete it
- object to us using it
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on it.
- complain to the Information Regulator
